    islam and sex education

    dear friends,
i just want to know your opinion about the teachings of islam on children and sex education,
a well known concept is forbid the children from knowing about sex, as it is a taboo. blah blah...
as far as BHASHTI ZAIWAR is concerned it seems to be a book written by a some one with extrem perversions on his mind all the time and muslins has made the book a symbol of learning.
i believe education is always is the most important aspect what ever the issue is.

I support sex education for Muslim kids as long as it is within the Islamic context.

my friend sex is a very sensitive topic. u can't tell your kids to soon or too late. i believe the best way to educate kids is yourself. would u rather they learn from others?! i mean in school no one is going to say it's against your religion to do so before marriage. if the parent won't take the liberty to teach the child the right of way then who will?! it's the parents responsibility to make sure their child knows what is right and wrong, before the child makes a mistake to regret! obviously u know they will find out one way or another, so why not make sure that they learn abt it, but in the manner that islam requires. making sure they know the consequences and restrictions of our islamic boundaries! i believe that it's the one best way to get through to your child, rather then leaving it up to other forms of resource!
a parent is held responsible for their child's well-being and their education abt islam!

      peace love and respect, always!!!

            dearest shahzadi,
            thanks for a beautiful reply.
i really appriciate the wav you think and i would like to know more, regarding who can one teach kids?
i mean what should one say?
you see, it is very difficult to talk to kids regarding sensitive topics.
you are very right in saying that parents shoild be the one responsible, but how can a mother orfather tell it to a child?

Well I guess the best time to tell start educating them is when they start asking about things. I mean explain whatever you feel is appropriate depending on their age and the situation.
