There should be quota on posts per day

The way certain people are flooding the forums by repeating same arguments, I have a suggestion that there should be quota of 10 post a day and no more. This is because u may run out of patience and time though not of arguments.

of course moderators could keep an eye on people writing uder several nicks and and cut their nicks.

it will also save the forum to be less boring since same crap arguments are recycled again and again for which all sides are responsible. Also given upper limit, the participants will begin to give their best thought, if any and if they have ever bothere to think, in their post.

i am volunteering and from tomorrow, my posts in all politics+ religion sections will not exceed five.

P.S. This proposal is specifically for politics+ religion section. I dont mind someone endlessly discussing NoorJehan vs Lata or Lara vs. tendulkar or Rafi vs Kishore or eid experiences or travel tips or topics like that.

Certain mannerisms work well to show us what personalities we are dealing with.....

People that flood the forum, people that want to "increase the number of posts" accredited to them and people that pop into a thread simply to post a smiley all tend to fall into the same category.

Sometimes all you do is smile AND all you wanna do is smile.......and guess what a "smily" conveys that nicely......

Why don't you give ppl an option to get rid of that posts counter, if ppl wanting to increase their posts is a big issue.

Bad idea...

Bad idea to get rid of the post counter.

If we do that, there will be a major disaster, a real catastrophe. You guys shud be aware of it.

If we get rid of the post counter, how will ppl be able to post messages like "Congrats.. this is my 1000th post" or 2,000th or 3,000th or whatever....
And if, just imagine, IF we are not able to get these messages, what an unmitigated disaster it will be.

The effects will be two-fold..

1. It will dienfranchize an incredible number of guppies from expressing their heartfelt elation on somebody else completing an x number of posts. These guppies need to use these similies to express their jubilance

So, this single act will deprive so many guppies from expressing their feelings and thus increasing their own posts. How cruel!

If you thought this is bad, look how it gets worse. Here is the second reason why we can't do it....

2. If so many guppies are stopped from posting to Cafe', guess who will suffer the most? Yup, you got it... its ghalib. He won't have much to do... Now thats not fair. If ghalib is kept unutilized he has a habit of twiddling his thumb in frustration... and with twiddling come some really unfortunate after effects. This situation is really nightmarish, so much, that it can't even be commented upon further...

So guys.
No.
Bad idea.
Can't do that.
Can't make ghalib farigh or angry.
This is just not worth it.

If ppl want to let go of their steam by posting, and more posting, and even more posting... Let them.

I agree completely. But we need to find a better way than limiting # of posts per day.

waisay I said give ppl an OPTION to get rid of the counter.....ppl who want it can keep it.....
Basically what eats me is when they say that ppl post useless posts to increase the number........ I do it just To Post Useless Posts....(hopefully its not against the rules)

and yeah limiting em in gereral cafe img and jokes would be a bad idea

anyways i donno about putting a limit on posts but i definitly want a limit on # of threads a person can start during a certain time period...lets say 3 or 4 threads a day??

and i think this has been discussed before too??
