According to a news items appearing 15th October Federal Minister for Local Government & Overseas Pakistan Mr. Umar Asghar on his return from an extensive tour of Arab countries in Islamabad stated that insurance cover of Emmigrants Policy from present Rs. 200,000 has been raised to Rs. 300,000/-. Earlier talking with Pakistanis during his stay in Dubai he stated that more facilities and incentives were being given to Overseas Pakistanis (OPs).
Like our traditional minister Mr. Umar Asghar appears to be ill equipped or bureaucrats under him are keeping their minister ill informed as usual. The naked truth is somewhat different. Emmigrants Policy since its inception decades back was being issued valid for two years and insured used to get it renewed or extended for another two years by just filling a simple Form with Rs. 500 bank draft towards premium, posted by mail and in return sitting abroad in a month used to get renewed extended policy by mail. I myself had been getting this renewed or extended ever two years for the last 18 years.
Came the ministership of Mr. Umar Asghar. My renewal re-issuance early this year was refused saying law does not allow renewal and now I need to come personally to Pakistan to get it renewed at an expense of approx. Rs. 30,000 minimum. State Life and Bureau of Immigrants does not want to give an answer if Law did not provided re-issuance or renewal then how since 18 years I and my friends
were being re-issued and renewed every two years. Then where is the premium which insured for more than 2 decades sent for renewal every two years.
A premium only of Rs. 500/- and renewal at an expense of Rs. 30,000? Perhaps this is the type of "facility" for OPs which the minister talks about. If during Benazir and Nawaz policy was being issued why during the Chief Executive’s rule cannot be renewed or re-issued? It is a point if the HE the Minister sold many of governments problems will get solved.
It is firm belief His Excellency the Chief Executive is very sincerely with his day and night work is trying to rebuild the country but Alas same old faces bureaucracy is with him which is thwarting his all good work by causing frustrations and dramas like in ordinate delay in printing tax forms, pulling kulsoom car by cranes etc. ALLAH save our Chief Executive from these old faces (AMEEN).
