The food I miss.....

I am really missing some of Pakistani speciality food !!! I just can’t seem to find any restaurant’s around the London area that have decent Nihairi and Taftan/Sheermal.

I am also missing my Bhagaray Begun and Double Ka Mheetha (a.k.a Shahi Tukde).

Although I can find decent Chohlay and chutt patti things in the UK, I still miss the tehla wala in Laloo Kheth opposite the dakh khanna who used to sell the best dahi baday and chohlay – uski to baat hee aur theee.

What kind of food are you missing, and do you have fond memories of any tehla walla food vendors - the taste of whose food was much much better than any expensive restaurants.

I'm missing all the Pakistani food, because here in Vienna, we don't have any Pakistani restaurants at all.
The only way to get "apna khana" is the food, that my mum makes at home.
So your still lucky compared to me.

yaaar 2b or not 2b... try Khans, they have really good food. I dunno where they have sheermaal and taaftan, but I had sheermal at some restaurant in westham a bit back.

yaar Fraudia, I went to Khan's (Bromsgrove Rd)recently, but unfortunately they did not have the said food. However, their chicken karahi was excellent.

Hmmmm consult with blackzero or khabooo, these guys know all the good authentic desi restaurants in Greater London area.

Umer Shame on you yaar. You call yourself "Brain". My friend Desi restaurants are big business, so why don´t you take advantage of the first-mover effect and open the first Pakistani restaurant in Vienna? That way you´ll make money as well as promote Pakistani cuisine..

I remember looking for Shermal everywhere, cuz there is no comparison of Shermal with Nihari and payas. There is a restaurant which recently opened in the area and they do offer shermal. Finally! I think it's about time! But there is still no place 'round here which provides the Multani Sohan Halwa.

Umer there is 1 pak resturant in Vienna.
Very good one also, but that was back in 1998.
Might have closed down.
Here in Geneva we have around 7 to 8 pak resturants, and around 5 indian ones.
The best are in Laussanne, if you want good pakistani food stop by in geneva there is one that will blow you mind!!!!

Yes, there used to be a Pakistani restaurant in Vienna. I even know the guy, who owned it, but he had to close it down last year, although Austrians like Pakistani/Indian food very much. I think the reason was, that the food at that particular restaurant was not very good (my opinion).
There are a lot of Indian restaurants here, but there you don't get Halal food.
So you came to Vienna in 1998?

Just for 2 days, a stop over from Hungary.
Visited the Schuhbrun palace and the one with the huge garden, larger than the house one.
You live in one amazing city.
It is beautiful, though not much of a night life.
Geneva has a better one, i think.
