my school's phsycitrist told us that dreams is a way of god's meeting with you or sending u a message. it could be your own feelings, or something thats on your mind.

man i make movie in my dreams, and i watch movies (usually SRK's and Amit jee's) boy is it fun, and if i wake up i can go back and watch the movie or dream from where i left it.

      believe it or not.

well i have dreams about shopping and stuff since i really like shopping and spending money on things i don't really need.

Was it a Psychologist or a psychiatrist? because the former deals with normal people and the latter with crazy ones so why did You have to meet a psychiatrist?

Most psychologist and psychiatrists dont dra god into their explanations, so this guy you talked to was a quack

..err..and based on your "psychiatrist's" view this is Allah sending you msgs? thru actors in a movie? hmmmm

I've heard - correct me if i'm wrong, that good dreams should be shared with other people and bad dreams never shared.

When you sleep, Allah takes your soul to the heavens... you dream.. then Allah decides who he wants to keep and who he wants to go back to earth..

Apparently, the truest of dreams are ones that occur between Fajr time and Sunrise.

well lets talk reality........Dreams....are produced when ur brain loses control over the rapid firing of nuerotransmitters during the REM.........and sometimes NREM. They are always images stored on the these nuerotransmitters.

im sorry if i cause any confusion, it just that nowdays im studying about dreams ,and am very fascinated by them. Let me try again in simpler form

Dreams usually reflect a person's preoccupation that they encounter in real life for ex. hopes and plans, worries and fears. Most dreams take place in a commonplace with real people, most of whom the dreamer knows. In general dreams are more unpleasant than pleasant, and contain more misfortune than good fortune. Fear and anxiety are common in REM(rapid eye movement)part of a sleep cycle) dreams. Some dreams are in color, some are black and white. 2 most common type of unpleasant dreams are falling, and being chased by someone/something, and are mostly are recurring dreams. Dreams function to satisfy unconscious sexual and agressive wishes, therefore unacceptable in real life.

                    hopefully you understand....

kaka malang ji aap ki baateN sun kar bohat mazah aaya.
i am mostly satisfied with ur both comments. it was a great way to explain yaar.
dont u think that the brain does not lose the control over the rapid firing of neurotransmitters yaar? if the control is lost, why only eyes are moving yaar? merey khyal meN its a plan yaar!! a sazish of creator!!!
well i have heard of the new one theory after some research which explains that dreams are the assimilation of the stimuli which we cannot take conciously in our day life but which unconciuosly are saved in ur memory. while sleeping our brain is working and the attention could be directed to these stimuli which we could not solve or assimilate as we were not sleeping yaar.
and the solution of these stimuli is based on the whole life experiance. associations and the whole directory of our life is involved to set new ways to solve these stimuli yaar.

kuch aur batao kaka malang yaar. was nice to read that one yaar.!!

                          Cindy ji,

My cousin always said ke agar khawaab main kisi ko mara hua dekho toh uss ka matlab hota hai ke aap ki family main koi paida honay waala hai... Main ne kabhi iss baat ka yaqeen toh nahin kiya, lekin aap jaisa case bhi pehli dafaa sun rahaa hun.

Eros: i think ur watching "The Scary Movie" a lil bit too much

Paanmasala: i dont believe in these wild assumptions, like if u see snake in ur dreams that means you have alot of enemies, or if you see urself falling of from someplace. you are going to experience severe emotional shock, these are merely bogus sayings, based on nothing. These dreams can occur because of ur anxiety of snakes and falling, which almost all of us are afraid off, and this can be traced back to cavemen. Cavemen when hunting at night used to fall of small cliffs, and into trenches, i think this is where we get it from. Like back home my grandma told me once that if u see a dead person who you loved alot, come in your dream and tell you to go with them somewhere, and you accept the offer and go, that means you will die real soon, this was when i was 7, so im still waiting This is a very confusing field of study, scientists are not going very far with it. The only researched study about was done on not what dreams mean, but what the objects in the dream mean, although this study was not really backed up y many sleep researchers. It was conducted by Sigmund Frued, in which he used 2000 subjects over the period of 4 years, and what he claimed was that seeing sticks, umbrellas, and guns represented the male sex organs, and seeing cupboards, boxes represented the female sex organs. Which in the end was not enough to get any scientist attention, so this experiment lost its credability very fast. Ok i have said too much.... http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/bukbuk.gif

                              Kaka Malang....

I would like to disagree with your one point, that dreams dont mean anything.....
There may be scientific researches regarding dreams but one can't deny what Religion has to say about Dreams.

There are these ~Ahadith~ regarding the interpretation of dreams...

1.Allah's Apostle said, "A good dream (that comes true) of a righteous man is one of forty-six parts of prophetism"

2.The Prophet said, "A true good dream is from Allah, and a bad dream is from Satan."

                              3.Narrated Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri:

The Prophet said, "If anyone of you sees a dream that he likes, then it is from Allah, and he should thank Allah for it and narrate it to others; but if he sees something else, i.e., a dream that he dislikes, then it is from Satan, and he should seek refuge with Allah from its evil, and he should not mention it to anybody, for it will not harm him."

Cool Dude...this Hadith confirms what You mentioned.

                              4.Narrated Abu Huraira:

I heard the Prophet saying, "Whoever sees me in a dream will see me in his wakefulness, and Satan cannot imitate me in shape." Abu 'Abdullah said, "Ibn Sirin said, 'Only if he sees the Prophet in his (real) shape.'"

I hope this would help clarifying your concepts about dreams ...miss Cinderella
