    Lefties in Right-Handed World!

    Hi all. http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smile.gif

With which hand do you writ or draw?
Which hand do you use to throw a ball?
In which hand do you hold your toothbrush or a knife?
In Which hand do you hold a match to strick it?

In Short, are you mostly right-handed or left-handed???

Do you know roughly 90% of human population is right-handed.

I am right-handed. But lefties or righties , whats the difference? Does it really matter?
Please answer those questions. Sorry if you feel that those are personal questions. http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smile.gif

    One of the universal questions.....

    I'm right handed.

I've always envied left handed folks......cuz they're rare, you know?

Well, it does matter.. first of all.. our brains work very differently...

Lefthanded paople, they get to face problems in everyday life.. like when using the scissors.. http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/eek.gif ( unless the have a special Lefthanders scissors ) http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smile.gif

I will come back later with more details.. http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smile.gif

      Hasta... http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smile.gif

I am lefthanded. Two years ago I read an article on left handers and I am giving info from that.
        Caesar,Napoleon and Alexander were leftahanded.
So were Jack the Ripper and Boston Stangler!
Personally I found it convenient in some ways and inconvenient in others.

          I'm right-handed.

Lefties have a huge advantage in sports, esp tennis, cricket, and baseball; largely due to the odd angle they can produce or perform from. The angle being 'odd' as it deviates away from the x, y and z axis of the majority of their RH opponents.

You are right elmo. The best example I think is John McEnroe. If you get a chance see one of his old matches and watch the way he serves. It is totally different from the way 'EVERYBODY' on the circuit serves.
Apart from that I think lefties draw crowds!
I can personally vouch for this.People just stop by because they find it unusual.(I used to paly table tennis)

Amie always made sure we did everything with our right side...wearing clothes with the right sleeve first, right shoe, eating, drinking...I cannot even fathom doing them with my left hand...

btw-I recently read somewhere that around 50% of gays are left handed...

I get so confused when I would have to bowl a leftie... I try to avoid it if possible at all. What confuses me length wise is to determine the goodlenght spot for a leftie batsman that would spin off from his off side to leg side (since I'm a leg-spinner). Thank God there are not many lefties out there whom I have to bowl though

exactly - so why all these questions then? http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smile.gif

In tennis, lefties have only advantage (but a huge one) while serving. Returning a drop shot or a volley is not their forte http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smile.gif

Roman - dont try to google a lefty, he comes on the front foot and the ball goes out to long on for a lofty six!!

and all this cuz iam a lefty myself minus eating, writing & mouse usage http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smile.gif

I am lafthanded.. But I play cricket and some other sports with my right hand.. like Badminton but I play table tennis with left.. !!! It's really weird.. Like when I play cricket.. And I am bowling.. then I have the foot work of a left hander but I bowl with right.. !!! So that confuses the other players and in the batsman in perticular http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/wink.gif

What else.... Ummmm .. I can easily use the Righthanders scissors and have no problem with it.. http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smile.gif http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/tongue.gif

Well, that was it for now..

What really completes a team's asenal is a lef-handed bowler, preferably one who can cut across sharply.

Derek Underwood was lethal for the very reason, working best when the conditions were damp.

                            Here's a tip Roman:

early on bowl him a few breaks and seedha ones pitching on leg; and try to see if he can flick or is comfortable. Toss in a few wide ones if RR isn't a prob. If he's unable to flick beyond square leg (or at all for tha matter), it's almost certain he won't be able to play the googly corectly. Put in a silly point and you should have him.

Gizzy yaar you are quite right and left handed person. Thats Cool. http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smile.gif
Yes right handeness does come handy sometimes, but only for people who are left handed. I mean i would have trouble doing somethings which i do comfortably with right hand. As of bowling yes i can never do that with left hand, yet i can bat well with left or right, i prefer right hand.
Andhra i also read an article about it few months ago. It showed that left handers are more likely to emerge as gifted athletes, mathematicians, and artists. But they are also more likely to have allergies, insomnia, reading disablities, and certain other disorders. So i guess there are disadvantages in being a leftie. http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smile.gif No offencse to any one off course. bye.
