When it gets hard, what do you do?

The ice cream. Some times in the freezer, it gets so hard that it is very hard to take out. I have even bought an ice cream scooper gizmo, even that doesn’t work at times.

    Any suggestions?

        ufff
        i hattte that!!

NY ji, let it thaw for 7-10 minutes or so
        OR
mix fruit in it so that it dun't taste as bad when you bite the crunchy, disgusting watery taste of the insoluble ice cream flavour & water. http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/pukey.gif

Yar NYA, you and your exp. and this question. I am disappointed, well rub it(Ice Cream) on your palm, it always works, some times you have to do it for long time before it becomes soft again. If it does not work , leave it outside and give it some time but becarefull if you have a cat at home.

My Dear Friends and Johny the bad boy. I am a total ice cream freak. I have to have a half a pint or more every day or I feel withdrawal. I live on this thing. My favorite is Ben and Jerry; cookie dough is the one that I love the most. There is nothing in this world that can substitute ice cream.

If I have to choose between ice cream and my parents, I will go for ice cream and hope that they understand.

Being an ice cream fanatic myself I can totally understand NYAhmadi's situation.

I've tried a few recommended solutions myself and just haven't been satisfied. The suggestion of taking it out a few moments prior to usage isn't very good because even the slightest amount of softness is NOT good. It takes away from the pleasure tremendously. The taste changes too when you put the slightly softened stuff back in and try to use it again the next time. It becomes all frosty and stuff.

Anyway, NYAhmadi my friend, here's the closest thing to perfect dispensing.....warm up a mug of hot water in the nuke oven....dip your ice cream scoop in the water and leave for a minute....immediately remove scoop from hot water and dispense your ice cream with the heated scoop.

Hopefully this will work for you....

                You guys are so 1999.
anyways, NY being a gadget freak as well as an icecream freak, I would suggest you get the heated ice cream scoop they sell at sharper image..or maybe its brookstone.

                Now THATS a solution

After readin all ur posts i came to the conclusion that u all are not REAL ice cream lovers.

So here's some info for you amateur ice cream lovers :
Walk to ur store where they sell ur flavour. Buy ur stuff. Walk back home. During ur walk, you can study ur ice cream and adjust ur walkin speed. By the time u r back the ice cream is perfectly ready to be consumed.

For the abs. fake lovers amongst you :
Do not ask me about the distance between ur house and the shop. That u cant walk that far. If u r pure, you do live in the neighbourhood of a shop where they sell ur favourite brand.

An ice cream worshipper has NO (and never)ice cream in the freezer.

(let me explain it to you : if he/she puts it in the freezer its not there anymore after 5 min. He/she is not able to live in a house knowing that there's ice cream in the freezer)
