BoSS ditched me !!!

You would think that you go to another city (or even another country in this case) and would want to meet a fellow guppie who seems very nice on gupshup and expect that you would be welcomed warm heartedly... well, think again.

I recently went to Toronto and called upon BoSS. I can't believe how I was treated. He totally denied to recognized famous words like 'gupshup' or 'Roman'. He didn't return my 5 phone calls (or was that 8 calls??) ... and when finally I was able to get hold of him from the airport, while I was about to get on board on my way back (BTW, it was an international cell phone call with roam call), he simply blew me off by saying dude, I don't know any Roman or gupshup, don't call here again and don't expect that I would offer you to stay with me... or even if I would, you would have to pay $100 (USD) per night and would have to sleep on the floor next to the door and you would have arrange your + my meals. Good that I had not depended on him and already had reservation at Holiday Inn, just in case.

I was so crushed and heartbroken.

Well, Roman like Naiko says u r the only descent guppie around here so I decided to ditch you... I just thought my company might spoil you ahem so I was nice;-) but oh well if you insist, next time I'll only charge $99.99 (USD, no loonies or toonies) for the room...and khana will be on the house but guess hwo is gonna do the dishes ;-)....can't be too flexible on the rules bud.

My tour was great. I had the most amusing Guide who would get lost on the streets of downtown Toronto even with the written directions on a paper, and would find the way solely based on human instincts... and I thought I was the only one in the world!

I also had my fair, tourist share of getting soaked under the mist of Niagra falls on one of those ferries, even with that blue and stupid plastic overall on. Next time, I'll bring my own rain coat. The botanic garden was quite botanic.

With my luck, that glass floor on CN tower never broke even though I banged on it real hard. I intend to take an awl with me next time around.

The food on Gerald street was really good. I should move down there.

Toronto airport is the worst I have seen in my life... and I've not seen many. I almost needed my car to drive down from check in area to the departure terminal. The walk-cum-powerwalking-cum-jogging-with-a-duffle-bag left me in no need for any sort of cardiac activity (pumping blood included) for at least coming two weeks.

For my cultural shock on Canadian monetary system, please refer to BoSS - I'm still shocked enough to put it out here. All I did was stretch my hand full of coins every time I needed to pay for something and tell the cashier 'you pick and count, I'm not doin' it'. After third time, I did get used to that 'Ah, these Americans!' look.

I would suggest that your account is comical Roman, but I'm afraid I've heard exactly the same stuff about Toronto from several people.

The one thing that you mentioned that is new to me is the complaint about the cardiac workout walk from the gate to the immigration posts in the airport....you must have arrived at Terminal 3. I've done the walk and complained about it but most people that come from European airports like Heathrow etc. find it quite normal.....
