Why is it that people cant argue in a logical manner.

Too many threads have this scenario..

person A says country A/Relgion X has this issue.

Person B says oh yeah well country B/ Religion Y has this issue..look at your own house first.

Person A says, dont skirt the issue, btw your Country A/ Religion X has this issue as well

Person B says, you are an idiot and could not answer my question.

Person A says, no you are a moron since you did not answer my question and brought up a different topic.

Meanwhile all the other "contributors" to the discussion are butting heads on other tangents

Admittedly, some of these posts from the get go are written in a way to offend people or annoy them so they retaliate, and often posts that may be well intentioned to begin with get destroyed due to the type of responses generated.

While I understand that some topics are hard to discuss on their own and comparisons need to be brought up, in most cases it does not hold true.

We should always look at what has been said and answer that rather than who said it and start bashing him.

you are right, if someone asks why you prefer oranges in a decent manner, and hasnt already made up his mind regarding why you eat oranges, its okay.

but what if the post goes like

Pir Frauds eats oranges, bah! lousy, stinky oranges! Pirji, why does thou eat that yuck fruit? i bet it is the (religionA) blood in your veins, what stupid people you are.. i am glad i am of (religionB). we dont eat believe in primitive deeds like eating oranges..

it is obvious that the person's intention isnt a discussion on why Pirji eats oranges, but to poke fun at his affiliations. and believe me, if you had seen the recent events in the religious section that precipitated the hooker stuff, you'd have no problem in seeing that the post in here was a stinker orange..
