interesting article about Imran Khan & his wife in Vanity fair for Imran Khan fans. I don't know much about him - not a cricket fan, but it was worth the read.

Sufi Soap is the best. In fact, many families in my part of Pakistan make their own soap (caustic soda, and all) and the wash comes out as good as any Washing machine.
I haven’t read the article, so I can’t comment, but his wife not using Washing machine is no reflection on our culture.
I am sure that both Imran and his wife are good people. They are making whatever contribution they can. I wish they did more, as they are influential and wealthy. I wish they opened up some schools.

NY you said you have no right to comment as you didn't read the article…but look you just did.
The whole tone of the article was sarcastic…….the writer was more interested in what is lingering around the streets of Lahore…the dusty road to the farm house….pollutionetc etc….
….then I am not surprised if people believe you have never seen the face of that box….which is called Television in civilised societies.
It is questionable why media always has to show the down side of Pakistan………

Dear Durr-e-Shahrwar, I am not sure what you are trying to say here. In terms of what article says, it is what a “writer” views a certain issue through his or her own set of eyes. Certainly there are things that some may find abhorring or unpleasant. Everyone has a right to their interpretation of a scenario. I most certainly don’t find anything wrong with such descriptions. To me, Dusty Roads are beautiful, and pollution is something that Pakistan creates at least a 100 times less per capita than the “developed” world. Those who talk about pollution in Pakistan have no clue what pollution is. Who do think is responsible for the big hole in the ozone? Pakistan can never do that in a million years. For example, US produces 3600 lbs of garbage per person per year, compared to 80 lbs for per person in Pakistan.
Trust me, pollution is not one of our problems.

Dear NY, maazrutt keh sath…….I am not very much comfortable with the idea of wasting massive space of TOPP GupShup so really don't like to drag the issue in detail and going to say very little.
The only point I was trying to make is that individually even I don't have any problem with such description of the writer, it doesn't effect my life.
Only thing which matters is that how much you are conscious of the effects of your individuality on other individual lives.
For an enlightened individual like you I prefer to end my explanation here.
