Why People in pak hate those who are abroad ?

Majority of the people I have talked to in my life ( from pakistan ) I get this impression that they have nothing but haterness among those who live abroad.

They talk bad out of their mouth and curse america and those who reside there. If you get in debate with these people they would curse the living $**t out of america and what not. Even here on GS you will find plenty of people who live in pakistan and will always have a harsh tone for those who are abroad.

Why people do this ? Are they jealous or mad because they can't get the visa ?

My question to all those who hold grudges or carry bad feelings for those who reside abroad, wouldnt they catch the next possible flight to come US/UK or other european countries if their visa was to be approved ? ( This excludes those people who are very very well off )

Dont they have at least ONE family member abroad ? I know so many families in Pakistan who live off american $ dollars because their dear ones are here; and are supporting not only their own familes but also other familes as well. But yet these people have some nerve to curse the people who are abroad. Why ?

    Isnt it wrong ?

It is wrong.. but what ive found out in the past few months is that, its the media that spreads such hatred... the same goes here. I reckon most aussies hate US.. not the people.. just the nation as in a whole..

i guess cus of the power the nation exhibits or i guess uses against other countries.. especially against countries like pakistan/afghanistan/india..

i used to think people in pak were clueless and their hatred was baseless, but when u see what is happening in the world right now, u cant blame them..

its similar to the hatred pakistanis feel for indians.. and its not until they step outta the loop they realise indians arent all that bad..

plus, its not about cathing the next flight out to US/UK and Aus (i know u didnt mention it ), but its more what the leaders of these countries are doing... neways, its not entirely their fault for believing what they do..

Sadzz you are right at what you have said but I am pointing out the level of selfishness people living in pakistan have.

On one hand they build mansions from the money from abroad, educate the kids buy expensive cars and what not. But yet curse the living hellz out of american/european and Ausises

      Thats just wrong....

( Not to mention the craving and drooling on the choclates, when someone comes from outside )

u know selfishness just cant be helped.. most of the time, these people ur referring to, dont even know that they are being selfish... cus everyone around them is doing the same thing.. so it must be right what they're doing.. :halo:

for example, they curse america, but send their kids to american schools.. but thats cus those are the only schools that are gonna provide the proper education...

ive always disliked america too, but then again im going there soon and wouldnt mind working there.. sad aint it? but thats just it... its not the country or the people u hate, dislike.. its what the nation is doing..

im just going round in circles.. u get what i mean right?

p.s thank u for mentioning Aus

in the past i have experienced what you talked about ...however, you know, in the last 2 years i've visited pakistan 3 times, 2x alone and i have spoken with various desis along the way...each time people were more than respectful, curious to know how i felt about pakistan, my experience here and never once did they beat down on forigners, they did complain about the iraq/al qaeda/us war but that is difft....

going to pak day melas and other events im amazed to see how many pakistanis have come over to US in the past 6/7 years. a lot those came after their loved ones sponsored them (it usually takes about 4-5 years for such applications to be approved by INS). then you have a whole bunch of folks who came on student visa and then stayed after graduation and are on H-1B. the illegals are still coming but the govt. has tightened the noose and its becoming increasingly difficult to stay in amreeka w/o any status.

Depends on people you are meeting and how you are treating them. Your attitude, your behavior will describe your personality at that point. Every one living in Pakistan has a dream of a luxurious life, they try hard to achieve that but on many occasions they do not get what they wished, for a middle class or lower person life is very hard in Pakistan, higher expense and lower is the income, in many families only one person has to nourish the whole family and because of so many frustrating reasons, their personality get smudge and some times they lose their patients and get busted. We should understand this fact when we meet them; try meet up with a down to earth personality, respect them and try to listen their opinions, carry some gift for them to give a joy (not some perfumes bought form dollar stores). They are nice people and all they want is to treat them with self-respect and adore.

When I was in Pakistan, one guy came after 10 years from London, he was posing like if he is Prince Charles, he had forgotten Urdu, his accent was changed as brits, he said on dinner “ham ko yeh taiz mirchi ka khana nahe mangta”, well he made joke of himself, after few days he realized people of Pakistan are not that stupid.

What's their living off US dollars have to do with them disliking American govt/policies? agar America nay kuch families ko abaad kia hai to usse kayi ziada logon ko beghar aur barbaad bhi kia hai...Do you not realize it?? I think they're very specific about what they hate about America. They hate the government not the people. If they hated Americans so much they wouldn't treat them so nicely back home!

By the way, agar aap wahan logon ki help karke un par ehsan karrahe hain to please use jatayen mat, aapki nekiyaan zaya hojayengi...On the other hand, agar aap yeh ehsan nahi karrahe to aapko ise jatane ka haq nahi hai...Thank you!

It is better to be hated for what you are, then to be loved for what you are not...

I guess you visited some Madrassah, because in Lahore, people love America and American Culture. We have 4 or 5 Pizza Huts, and other goodies from America, where the lines of customers stretch out for miles.

Thats lame, of course we can blame them, just like i can blame someonein US to hate muslims just because of what is happening in the world right now.

Just because they have a "basis" for their views does not mean that either the basis is valid, or that their viewpoint is justified or excusable.
The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he did not exist. And like that... he is gone.

^^ I agree with Fraduiya...why hate ALL Americans for wrongful acts of a few? If we really believe it's a right thing to do then we very well deserve all the descriminations and hatred that we Muslims are recieving from the other side.

Well i can only talk from a personal point of view.

I have never experienced such hatred for people living outside Pakistan.

Normally I find that the people of pakistan look upto people living abroad and treat them with true hospitality.
I love deadlines. I especially like the whooshing sound they make as they go flying by
