Now that the media has shown photos and video of the dead bodies of Uday Hussein and Qusay Hussein what will the impact be on the media itself? By showing such graphic images not only has the media crossed their self-imposed line they have removed it. What's next and is this a good or bad thing?

I don;t think the line was ever self imposed. I think it was a collaborative standard establoished by the media, gov't agencies in military. It speaks volumes that this country establishes ethical boundaries unlike the politicized media outlets of lesser countries.
I hope this was a one-off to satisfy the curiosities of the naysayers. Because we know that those who have blind hatred wouldn't be convinced anyway. So frock'em. I say!!

Matsui, this country's media is as influenced by Government agencies as your next country's media.. this is one of, if not the most compliant media anywhere in the world.. never questioning the administration.. never presenting the counterpoint, always soft-balling in interviews.. and relaxing lines as and when useful for the Administration.
I think now that the media has flexed it's muscles and gone where no media-whores had gone before, we need to see the faces of the young American men and women dying for Dubya.JaddoN kaddya jaloos ghareeba tay shehr ich choatalee lug gayee

we are talking about the ethical boundaries established in media reporting as per showing gruesome enemy or american carnage. Not whether FOX news is Dubya's mouthpiece.
As far as your comment regarding young men and women dying for Dubya. It is wrong. American gov't doesn't work on someone's whim or unilateral direction.

Graphic images aren't so bad in my view, it's when the media is used to 'sex up' government reports or twist facts to sway public opinion that we are on the slippery slope as far as I'm concerned. The BBC has come under fire big time for not toeing the government line in it's reporting which is not a step in the right direction in my view.

What the hell are you guys talking about? Media has been publishing pictures of dead women, men and children lying in cespool of blood all the time..and some of the people who are offended by these pictures have been wearing pictures of dead palestinian children as name tags in debates. Has not Arab and other media printed pictures of children shreded into pieces by bombing in Afghainstan and Iraq war? How is Uday and Qusay different?
Secondly, same people were asking for pictures 3 days ago as a proof and wanted to see the pictures as a confirmation...now that pictures are shown it is bad. One can never win.
