Izzat

Im curious to know why do so many Pakistanis (and I include myself) care so much about their 'Izzat' or self dignity. I see so many people pick up fights just because they think their Izzat has been breached. esp when the person may just be plain wrong.

Perhaps its just that us Pakistanis are more emotional than others but I say if youre a thief or someone corrupt then you better not be talking about your or your families 'Izzat'.

probably we r following our great philosopher's concept of "khudi"...he! he! he! i think we should always keep an eye on our self-dignity, but of course not when we r arguing for a wrong thing, or when we ourselves have commited a moral crime. btw i don't think any thief ever claims for the loss of "izzat" even president soharto didn't do that. what do u think people???
