    Where's the Party Yaar?

    Wheres the Party Yaar? is a colorful, witty, romantic comedy about a loveable yet naive Indian student who travels to America. There he meets a wildly entertaining group of college kids who engulf him in their world. Wheres the Party Yaar? contains a young, dynamic cast featuring Kal Penn of American Desi.

    In a small village in India, Hari Patel visits an astrologer before his big trip to America. The astrologer, an outlandishly dramatic character, makes several puzzling predictions about Haris future. It will be a full moon night. There will lighteninga feverand then you will fall in love. Her name will begin with a P. Throughout the film, Hari seeks to make sense of these bizarre revelations.

    Upon his arrival in the U.S., Hari stays with the Bakshi family where he meets his Americanized counterpart, Mohan Bakshi (Mo). Mo is spoiled, rich, popular, yet a likeable character. Mos fraternity Rho Beta Rho helps promote Indian parties on campus. Ray, the party promoter, is on a mission to keep the FOBs (Fresh Off the Boat) out of the party to maintain a cool image for his events. However, as the astrologers revelations begin to materialize, Hari realizes that he must go to the party to get the girl of his dreams. This sends Hari and his friends on a relentless search to find out Wheres the Party Yaar?

    From their part-time jobs at an Indian restaurant to college life with the dueling cliques, the Rho Beta Rho fraternity and the FOB squad, Mo and Haris crazy antics lead the audience on a pursuit for their true loves and the big party. Cultural conflicts, romantic adventures, and family struggles arise in the comedic twists and turns of this movie. The unpredictably unique plot of Wheres the Party Yaar? is rivaled only by the films vibrant and stunning cinematography, as well as the hip East-West blend of house, hip-hop, garage, and bhangra music. From the unforgettable boy band dance routine in the rain to the climactic party at the end, Wheres the Party Yaar? will keep viewers guessing until the final scene what the fate of young Hari will be.

    This movie is premiering at the Asian Art Film Festival in San Francisco on March 9,2003. Anybody wants to come?

        so finally it is being released? there was a lot of hoopl;a about it and then nothing, i have nt heartd about this in some time now, thought it may have been released already.

        rho beta rho I thought only a few ppl used that term..
