It was a good show. Could have been better. But the best part was one when they invited the foudners and the original member of VS band, Nusrat Hussain. Plus they also showed a clip of Junaid where he talked about dil dil pakistan and early days of VS band.

Most performers were tier two singers, like saleem javed abbas ali khan etc.

      List of songs

      Omar Inayat: Tum dur thhay
      Gurus: Nazar
      Mizmaar: Chehra
      Abbas Ali khan: Yariaan
      Saleem Jawed: Sanwali Saloni si
      Dino: Goray rung ka zamana
Shahzad Roy: Tere liye hai mera dil
      Sharique Roomi: Woh Kaun thi
      Aaroh: Ajnabi
Najam Shiraz: Yeh shaam phir nahi aaye gee

The highlights were Shahzad Roy and Najam shiraz. Of course they learnt their singing with these songs and they sung their respective songs brilliantly. Omar Inayat did a good job with one of my all time favourite songs. Some were satisfactory but Dino totally ruined his version.

I was looking forward to see if someone attempts 'Aitebaar' but no one did (and thankfully too).

All in all, it was not a fitting tribute to the legendary band but a nice effort.

I watched it Saby, and i agree not a fitting tribute at all but a good effort yes.
I was SO nostalgic watching it!

but i was also annoyed at some points. Najam Shiraz dissected 'Ye Shaam' and it hurt my ears. It's such a delicate song, i think i cant bear anyone else singing it. I thank IM a million times for not inviting Mizrab to sing their God forsaken verison of "Dil Dil Pakistan" Shahzad Roy sang "tere liye" well but his Bryan Adams insertion was lame Surprisingly this new guy Omer Inayat sang "Tum Door thay" very well, but his movements were annyoing.

I dug out my "Geetar 93" VHS few days ago, and plan to go dwon memory lane as i find time. I still think these songs, if put on the charts today will push all these nowcomers down by a huge margin.
