Great voice.

Very well suited for classical music.

I'm listening to his new album that is out, entitled Josh. Okay, so he started out with an silly song "Hum Hain Gangay" (We are Bald). And then for a while he was singing NFAK songs in mehfils and concerts, because his voice was supposedly close to NFAK's. He took this up after NFAK's death. Now he's released Josh.

What do you guys think of the album...I'm not too familiar with NFAK's work, beyond the really really famous songs. So I dont know if this is NAR's own music or NFAK's work.

So far, I've listened to Josh and Ishq. Josh is terrible. Absolutely terrible.

Ishq is nothing unique.

I have heard him live a couple of times in fuctions. My cousin had a good voice and was crazy about music and he use to hang out with Rufi until his family kicked him on the behind to get back on track. Anyway the first time I heard Rufi was on a cousin's Mehndi and his voice (live) is amazing. Yes he always have been singing NFAK's song, but I distinclty remember he sang a beautiful slow number that day. "Koi Jab tumhara riday toor day". That was the first time I heard that song and loved it. Anytime I wanna hear the song I pop the mehndi video in the vcr as I have no clue who sings that song. I havent heard the album yet, I'll check it out on Muziq.net or something.

Rufi has an amazing voice.

He is an ex sahib-e-biyaaz for Anjumane Raza Karaan e Hussein, Karachi. I have heared him recite nohas, marsiyas, and naats. He is highly capable.

i got 4 cds with roofi, best 1 is the TRIBUE TO NFAK one, where he sings kisay da yaar na bichray.

JOSH is an average album. I like the video.

He is blessed with an excellent voice and I really think he could utilize it for much better songs than that.
