A Great player indeed.

But to be the greatest he needs to score more NEEDED centuries against teams other then Kenya, Zim and Namibia etc...

Today i saw a progrmam on SA tv channel. VIV richards was there plus quite a few renownwed comentators and they were comparing ODI records of Tendulkar and Lara. And one thing they displayed was that Lara has played more innings that Mattered for them rather then Tendulkar who despite having a great conversion ratio, sometimes falter on that issue..

But taking nothign away from him an assett to Wolrd of Cricket.

Tendulkar crosses 12,000-run milestone

CENTURION: Batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar added yet another chapter in the record books when he became the first batsman in the history of one-day international cricket to score over 12,000 runs.
Needing 83 runs to achieve the feat, he drove Shahid Afridi for a boundary to take his score to 85 and cross the mark in India's Pool A match against Pakistan here on Saturday.
The milestone came in Tendulkar's 309th match.
However, he missed his 35th century by a whisker, failing to keep down a 150 kmph delivery from Shoaib Akhtar to be caught at point by Younis Khan for 98.
Tendulkar, with 34 hundreds and 12,015 runs to his credit till the end of his innings on Saturday, also missed the opportunity to score his fifth century in World Cup.
A century on Saturday could have taken him past Mark Waugh of Australia in World Cup's leading century-makers list. Both the players have scored four hundreds each in World Cups.

Saturday's score was his highest against Pakistan in a World Cup match. His previous best was 54 not out in Sydney, 1992.
