English Focus shows up Pakistani Chai & Samosa approach

I think right from the start England under Nasser Hussein and Zimbabwean Duncan Fletcher have shown an impressive direction and determination. Always clear in what they were trying to achieve, while Pakistan team have been giving out wrong signals by hounding Wasim Akram off the pitch and drifting aimlessly on it. When England were 60-3 on the last day, Moin didn't apply any pressure on the batsmen with close fielders and in the end England cantered home with a barrage of risk-less singles. It was cowardly captaincy.

Another spin-off of preparing dead pitches series after series is that our batsmen get used to playing in comfort, so when they go abroad to play on seaming wickets they don't know how to play under pressure. It's no coincidence that we are starting to lose these series regularly now. We were almost unbeatable a few years back, but now we have lost 4 home series on the trot. Pakistani cricket is becoming flabby and soft. We desperately need a few charcters like Aamir Sohail or Saleem Yousuf in the side.

Unless an Imran Khan type figure can come in and command some respect, thse players are going to continue in their "let's hope it's ok on the day" approach, which is being fast outstripped by teams with a more focused method like England, Australia and Sri Lanka...yes - Sri lanka ; a team that was transformed by a more dynamic approach to management.
