Good topic, ehsan. Evaluations of top players. Seeing from a few of your posts, you seem to have good taste in cricket,

I would agree on the same TOP TEST & ONE-DAY TEAMS. But I think batsmen/bowlers play and act under pressures of both variations of the game very diffeently, so

    3. Michael Bevan
    4. Steve Waugh
    5. Ganguly/Dravid

    TOP TEST BATSMEN

    1. -none- (M.Taylor if he wasn't reired)
    2. Lara/ M.Atherton
    3. Sachin/ M.Waugh
    4. J.Langer/ Inzamam
    5. M.Wasim/ Dravid

    TOP ONE-DAY BOWLERS

    1. Saqlain
    2. Akram
    3. Klusener
    4. McGrath

I dont rate BEVAN at all
he is a greedy man and always look for singles even in last over of an innings
      HE SUCKSSSSSSSSS TO THE BEST

        Ramesha,

I did not rate bevan a polite or non-greedy gentleman. But I think his temperament (cricket-wise) is very well suited for the latter part of a ODI innings.

esp. for rapid accumulation of runs, chasing targets, guiding the tail, and shots thru the gaps, particularly off-side.

You need to specify whether you are rating them based on stats or on talent.
In either case, I wonder why Shane Warne is missing from a couple of bowling lists. Also to be considered, Ijaz Ahmed, regardless of his stats, hes one of the most talented hitters i have ever seen. And what about Shoiab Akhtar? He is after all, the fastest bowler around.
