    Mujeeb inaugurates cricket academy

    KARACHI, Sept 29: The chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) ad hoc Committee, Mujeeb-ur-Rehman inaugurated the PCB Coaching Academy at an impressive ceremony at the National Stadium here Wednesday.

    Pakistan Captain Wasim Akram bowled a delivery to the PCB Chairman Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, who fiercely drove it to mark the opening of Karachi Chapter of Academy.

    Speaking briefly on the occasion, the PCB ad hoc chairman expressed the hope that youngsters will maintained top discipline and will be fully benefited by the coaching academy to enrich their skill and set a good example of sportsmanship.

    In his welcome address Hanif Muhammad said it was a historic event that at last PCB Cricket Coaching Academy was being officially launched.

    "It was like dream come true for me as I was dreaming of it for a long time" emotionally filled Little Master Hanif Muhammad said in presence of around 2000 youngsters.

    He appreciated PCB Chairman for taking initiative to launch this academy for the aspiring young cricketers. He said in coaching academy, boys will be given coaching and training on modern lines.

    He said physical training will be main part of the coaching programme. He said after rigorous trials process best lot of cricketers will be picked to attend the coaching in the academy.

    He expressed the hope that if youngsters worked hard this coaching academy will produced cricketers like Javed Miandad, Wasim Akram, Moin Khan and Wasim Bari etc.

    Former Pakistan captain Wasim Bari felicitated PCB for initiating the coaching academy. He said it was a positive step in right direction to groom and nurture the talent of young cricketers.

    The ICC Development Officer Asian Region, Nasimul Ghani and Chairman PCB Karachi ad hoc committee Asad Ashraf Malik also spokes at the function.-APP
