Youhanna might play to strengthen Pakistan's batting

Afridi, Lehmann sweat over World Cup final slots
    AFP - 19 June 1999

LONDON, June 19 (AFP) - Australia and Pakistan will announce their teams for the cricket World Cup final on Sunday at the last minute, leaving Shahid Afridi
and Darren Lehmann to sweat over their places.

The 19-year-old Afridi, a pinch-hitting batsman and bowler of quick leg breaks, could yet be ousted by Pakistan's specialist batsman Yousuf Youhanna.

Youhanna began the tournament in fine form before damaging a hamstring but has now recovered. Wasim Akram will have to decide whether his side needs Afridi's
all-round skills or Youhanna's greater batting expertise.

Darren Lehmann, meanwhile, may be challenged for his place by Damien Martyn.

Left-handed batsman Lehmann has only scored 123 runs in eight innings, missing one game against South Africa with a damaged finger. Right-handed Martyn, who
also bowls right-arm medium pace, could come into the equation.
