well indeed bahadur shah zafar was a sorry figure
firstly he was too humane and mellow to be a king ,the people made him the king at the time of mutiny though he was reluctant
one of his queens betrayed him and gave information to the british and the british after regaining power killed all his sons (the princes ) and gave thier heads to bahadur shah in a platter (why dosent anyone call british terrorst for doing this)
he was not supported by the sikhs in the mutinty who sided with the british
the british send him to exile in burma where he breath his last
and today his mausoleum(mazzar) is a revered place where people come from all over burma

Doubt you'll find anything about, him in English except Imperial records, whihc won't be flattering.

Do try Urdu web sites, or the OUP web site,

    why was he a loser?

he tried his best to resist british imperialim--but,alas, it was too little too late. Also, he was a very pious and naik Muslim...

why do Muslims insult our own predecessors?
